Faye Brookes is an actress known for playing Kate Connor in Coronation Street since October 2015. She is 28 years old and was born on 3rd September 1987 in Flixton, Manchester. She trained at the Guildford School of Acting. She is currently dating singer-songwriter Gareth Gates.

Kate Connor is the daughter of Johnny, sister of Aidan and half-sister of Carla Connor. In September 2015, Aidan stole £100,000 from Kate and Johnny. The pair managed to track Aidan down in Weatherfield. Johnny and Kate learned that Aidan had spent the money on a 40% share of Underworld. Kate met her cousin Michelle, and showed off her engagement ring.

A former holiday rep, the 25-year-old started working at the factory in the packing department less than a fortnight later - under the watchful eye of Kirk Sutherland. Convinced that Kate fancied Kirk, his wife Beth called her a hussy, warning her to keep her hands to herself, however Kate continued to wind Beth up and the pair began to brawl when Beth witnessed Kate squeezing Kirk's biceps and the women had to be separated by Carla. With Kate ordered to apologize, she bought Kirk and Beth a drink in the Rovers - explaining that she was only having a laugh with Kirk and that she was soon to marry her girlfriend Caz Hammond.

She appeared in 5 episodes of 'Our Zoo' and 1 episode in 'Atlantis'. She also starred in theatre productions of Shrek, Sound of music and Legally Blonde.

• Boyfriend Gareth Gates found Faye 'intimidating' when they first met. 
• Faye  Brookes and Gareth Gates met after starring as on-stage lovers in a 2012 production of Legally Blonde.
• She took over the lead in Legally Blonde from Sheridan Smith, and 
• She also starred as Princess Fiona in Shrek.
• Brookes has said that dancing and singing didn't come naturally to her and she's had to work hard to succeed.
• Brookes admitted kissing Rhea Bailey aka Caz was her first time ever kissing a girl and she found it "nerve-warcking".
• She ran the Great Manchester Run to help raise funds for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.
